Bags of Celebration

R and I have been visiting his “old” church, Celebration.

I kind of fell in love.

ALthough i really love our Pastor, Ross Parsley, and the vision of OneChapel. i felt completely at home at Celebration.

We met tons of people that Ryan used to be friends with, and they were all lovely. I also am kind of a kindred spirit with P. Joe Champion because he is from LA.

Right now the church is doing this campaign called Bags of Celebration. They provided church members school bags (blue and red) and each color represents a different student. Either middle school or elementary school. They are asking the members of the church to fill up the bags with needed supplies.

R and i went shopping for our supplies two nights ago @ Target. It was so much fun. I had not been school supply shopping in several years, and if you know me, you know i have a THING for schools supplies. It took everything i had not to buy things for myself. (I dont really need anything, but its all just so fantastic)

I hope that you find a way to give back to a local student in your area this year! There are so many kids whose parents can’t give them what they need for school and it just saddens me. I always had more than enough. I hope the kids around TX that receive these bags are blessed, and know how much we love them and are praying for them. i hope they know that although their earthly parents may not be able to provide them with all that they need due to unforseen circumstances, that it is no reflection on their heavenly father, and that he can meet all of their needs.

Things you can pray over students going back to school that may not have some of their most basic needs met this year:

That they would know Christ love, and know that He alone can meet all their needs:

Philipians 4:19 – “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Eph. 3:17-22 – so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
