Word Wednesday: What are you waiting for?

2 Thess 3 16

This morning and for the past several mornings/days, i have found myself plagued with worry. Worry over whether or not our house will sell quickly. Whether or not it will sell at all.

I am literally paralyzed sometimes by the fear that I will continually have to live in an RV in the middle of nowhere, and that my gorgeous furniture will be sitting in a beautiful house that i once called home………..without me.

One particular morning several weeks ago, I was in the shower, and worry just hit me like a ton of bricks. I know that I shouldn’t worry. I know that God has it under control, I know all the right things to think and feel, but it still doesn’t make it any easier.

I was reminded of this promise in church the weekend before. Our Pastor, Victoria, was literally speaking directly to Ryan and I. She was talking about “waiting well.” She expounded upon the fact that life is a waiting game. We are always waiting for something. Waiting to graduate high school, waiting to go to college, waiting for summer, waiting for a job (or to change jobs), waiting for a husband/wife, waiting for a wedding, waiting for a baby….the list goes on and on.

The waiting game is inevitable.

Pastor Victoria encouraged us with this, that we will get to the place God wants us to be. We need to live and enjoy life, while we wait. Develop ourselves while we wait {Which is such an interesting thing for her to say, because one of my dearest friends, told me this same thing the week prior. She said, what is God trying to teach you during this time of waiting? Talk about WOW.}.

So, with that being said, I am asking God to show me the reasons that he has us in this waiting game? Maybe He will, maybe He won’t. I just won’t know for sure.

I am learning to be THANKFUL and GRATEFUL for the tremendous blessings in my life. I am thankful my Dad has this camper that we can live in. The RV park is far, but not that far, and It’s so peaceful. It only takes me like 20 minutes to clean the whole thing. I mean, can someone shout Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am thankful to even have a house. I am thankful to even have the opportunity to buy a new house. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful that I am not separated from my husband by thousands of miles.

I am learning to focus on the many blessings in front of me, instead of the mole hill that I am turning into a mountain.

So, what are you waiting for?

Take that thing and lay it at the feet of Jesus. And like Pastor Victoria says, “the sooner we learn to wait well, the better off we’ll be.”

Wait Well Dear Friend.

This is a great Wednesday word! Amy it made me take a deep breath & wait contently. I’m thanking God in advance for all your blessings. It’s right around the corner my friend. Love you forever!
